First used the Palomar knot over 40 years ago. Never knew what it was called until I saw it a couple of years ago in a magazine. I may have sort of invented it for myself, for I never remember seeing it in any pictures way back then. Dunno who actually invented it or claims credit..not me for sure. It is a good knot, but I can't help but have minor instinctive reservations about any knot which tightly bends the monofilament.
The fish n fool knot also looks fairly good in theory.

yes jayzs your right its also called 1/2 blood knot. you can also use it up the shank of the hook aswell. it works that way just as good..
