it fought very hard, as you would expect. Took line off the clutch, and went on several fast, deep, runs. I actually thought I had hooked a carp, as I was fishing for tench. I had to hold it in the margins, until it recovered enough to swim off. Should also explain that the lake I was fishing used to be a river, but the river was re-routed, to allow for a railway line to be built. There is a current running through the lake, produced by springs. This lake dosen't freeze when lakes around it does.
Anyway can the fish be entered into the Barbel of April or not?
