hi barrie,

again well done on the captures mate,i'm itching to get out with my fly gear but dont think the leg is good enough to stand on for to long just now,am having a day at border on thursday with jayzs my first outing for many a week now but at least i can sit and fish within yards of the carpark at border so really looking forward to it, sad re the idiots who flout the rules to suit themselves when theres no fish left they'll be the first to complain eh,ah well all we can hope is that they were pleasure fishing and not food fishing,a call to the fed and the E.A to put them in the picture but with so few bailiffs its unlikely they would respond. so hows your daughtwr in law now mate? hope she's better,
ok barrie good luck on your outings

cheers

kev.

Default on the fly
Managed 2 trips since i last posted. both outings to the Goyt at chadkirk its an ideal length (apart from the hill back up ) for any one looking to start on the fly, low banks and some nice runs to go at, I managed 4 trout and lots of takes, so any one itching to get back on the river before the course season starts get yourself a cheap fly outfit. you will enjoy it

Barrie

Default fly fishing
but it says in the 2010-2011 hand book by the e.a. that only baits that can be used and allowed. are with minnow.worm.shrimp prawn. or artiicial flies or lures. you cant use a fly rod with them baits...

I know, but Im sure he said that on certain its different.

I would call the EA and ask for a local fisheries officer to call you back.

hi,
all the rules re closed season fishing are on the e.a. website, you must also observe local water by-laws, in general though no coarse gear is allowed in closed season, and yes you can cast those baits with a fly rod.

cheers

kev.
