Hi Kev hope your on the mend now mate and ready for the new season,Can you put a link up to where you got info on not being able to put bait in rivers during the close season in case it disturbers breeding fish.
I only ask as i read a few Weeks back in an article in the AT that a well know angler was already prebaiting swims on the Severn
Ive mailed the EA for info but they just sent me to local By laws but i cant find anything about prebaiting

Best of luck Billy. It is not overrun with trout around there, so I wouldn't expect very much spottyness in your catch. There are a few though.

Dunno Billy: photo not good enough for me to say what they are. Chub are showing themselves in the Goyt and Tame at the moment though. So chub maybe?
Possible I suppose that the kids have transferred the odd carp from that little pond just off that industrial estate up from the weir. They have, it is rumoured, also put some into the new Gosjacs water.

Also there are definitely good numbers of carp in the Mersey down Warrington way, and it seems highly likely that a few have "accidentally" found their way into the river near Sale Water Park.

I have actually seen one carp in the Tame...so why not elsewhere?

hi admin took your advice phoned the ea.spoke to the officer for n/west.mr.steven cartlige.. you can use all the baits listed on all n/west rivers. in closed season. and you can use whatever type of rod you want. but if your fishing on fed controlled water you must abide by there rules only.
