Not in the Manchester Area, but worth a drive.

Esthwaite and Killington, both Trout venues that let us mere Coarse mortals pollute their waters with bait when it gets too chilly.

Personally had roach over 2lbs from Esthwaite (very good piking too).

I've got to admit that that ones escaped my attention. I'll have to have a look at that.

There's bound to be something on the internet, somewhere.

rochdale canal pretty much sewn up by clubs , walked it a few times and only seen 1 old guy fishing it from his back garden, found some large bream and pike but never any decent roach, heard a rumour about the goyt roach shoaling up in a certain place around pmast but dont know if its true, bit far that drynetter and I assume quite expensive ???

£7 for Esthwaite, I'd pay that no problem (twicefold) for catches like this.

that is a truely magnificant bag of roach and well worth £7 , but with size of the lake I bet fish location is a nightmare, how have you faired on this water when youve fished it ?

Hi Saint, what about Hollingworth Lake (Seriously). Its been fishing well over the last few months. Try up near the overflow/elephant bath. Fishing feeder and chucking it well out produces some good roach,if you can get them in before the pike strike !!

Yes, some serious biggies. Well worth a visit if you are into piking. Its a day ticket water, just turn up and fish and sometimes the warden will come around and collect the money off you (Sometimes not), i think its just over 3 quid for the day. If you ring the watersports section prior to fishing you can also hire a boat for half/full days fishing.
