Lakemore Fisheries, near Crewe? Cheshire record apparently: 75 pounds I believe.

If you are looking to court one, you will be hard put to find a pretty one. ;-)

Default cats
Lymm Anglers have a number of lakes with cats in them, some of them are day ticket and are just off the M56 at Higher Whitley on Lake Lane one mile south of junction 10 off the M56 on the A559 towards Northwich. This is approximatley 4 miles west of the M6. Directly opposite the turning for Antrobus Golf Course.

I'm sure I hooked one once but it wasnt on for long it just felt like the bottom was moving about.

Martin.

Theres also Brookside Fisheries about 1 mile from the same motorway junction

Yes. Probably a catfish. Those I have caught felt like they were just resisting being brought any nearer, rather than fighting in the more conventional sense of making runs. That is not to say that I expect any I might catch in the future to fight the same way.

It will be even harder to find a good looking one in the Winter. Suggest waiting a few weeks, or targeting some other species for the moment.
