Cheadle Mill??? where's that exactly. The only mill I can think of is downstream of Cheadle bridge and to be honest there's not an awful lot left of it...

Sounds like you're talking about Micker Brook to me? Turning left at hospital takes you down the weir/waterfall.

Micker brook joins the Mersey at the downstream limit of cheadle anglers (to the right/upstream). To the left is a horsefield, be warned that the owners are not particularly fond of anglers if they find you on their land. Access down here is ok, but when you hit the motorway, you'll have to go under the bridge. If your plan is to fish the Mersey, you're better gaining access down by the side of the riverside hotel. Plenty of water to go at but you'll need to take a good helping of patience along with your bait.

If you're not that experienced fishing rivers, there are alternative rivers in the area that hold fish that may be more obliging.

Good luck...
