Just moved down to my native Yorkshire from the highlands after a 20 year absence where i worked as fisheries biologist. I have caught Barbel in the past mainly from the Wharfe/Swale but not really fished for them seriously, i hope to change to this from now on. Had a couple of sessions on my local river resulting in two small Barbel around 1lb/2lb each plus an 8.5 mirror.
I will be asking a lot of silly questions so hope you dont mind.
I am also a member of the NAC and sit on the committee as environment officer, was lucky enough to equal the Scottish record a couple of years ago so my fishing from now on will be solely Barbel/Chub and eels.
