Welcome to the barbel hunters fishing forum Chris

Nice work on your secret river, tip dont post photos of the pegs you fish or photos of you holding fish with the river and peg in the background, the luckers on the interweb like a free ride and use these photos to find barbel pegs

lurkers (people that scavenge information from forums and offer nothing in return)

All the best

Admin

PS, you need to tell me where your secret river and pegs are

Well done Chris, what a way to start your first barbel session, i had to make do with eels for my first few visits, caught my first baby barbel last week between 2-3 pounds, but it was deffo a barbel so i am up and running now. I have set myself a target of landing a double figure within the next 2 seasons, the fish are there, but actually catching them is a whole new ball game for me,tight lines. Dave

you should get down to ribble. you will catch your target by the end of this season if you now where to put your bollie or pellet. had many doubles last season biggist at 16.8. this season so far had a 12lb, 10.8 an a 9.8. thats the 3 biggist this season so far.

Hi Stig, the Ribble is the river i have been fishing. I spent quite a bit of time travelling backwards and forwards from Littleborough, visiting various stretches etc. So i did put a few hours in. The best thing i did though was join this website, i have been helped greatly by one of the Ribble regulars, so much so i can go and fish in the knowledge that i am in the right location and using the right tactics.
I intend spending a lot of time fishing through the winter, which at times can be a bit soul destroying, now i can fish with a lot more confidence. Having said that i will still have to do the business !!
