Hi all, my name is Dennis I have recently moved to the West country, after returning back to the UK after living in Spain foir 10 years.
Im living just outside Weston super mare, and as yet have had no luck finding anywhere in the area that I can catch Barbel.
I've been told they are in the Bristol Avon, but dont seem to be able to find anyone with any knowledge of the Bristol Avon.
I fished the Severn at Bewdley every year for many years, and the Ouse at Milton Keynes and Bedford when living in the Midlands.
I have had a couple of Barbel from a still water complex near where im living, but would love to find a river near me to try for them.
If anyone has any suggestions as to where I could fish, or any information on the Bristol Avon, I would be happy if you would please share it with me.

I had a quick look around for you and could find very little info on the barbel but you do have some massive roach !!! otters have been a problem and three areas keep on coming up for barbel Limpley stoke ,lacock and bathampton , barbel few and far between, best option find a tackle shop near any of the mentioned and ask in there.
