Welcome to the forum.

You have a great river where you live. I caught my first Barbel on the Kennet at Newbury back in 1975 I remember it as though it were yesterday.

I haven't fished the Kennet for many years now and read that a lot of the streamer weed has dissapeared from the Kennet with reduced flows etc. is this true? if so it's a great shame; It has always been one of my favourite Barbel rivers.

cheers keith. where abouts did you catch it mate. looked all over and don't seem to be able to locate them anywhere. am a member of thatcham angling association which have rainsford and padworth.

Welcome to the forum number one and i think you should have joined rdaa as a member of mine is a thatcham member and he said if he had reliesed they were going to change the rules on night fishing some of there bits he would have not joined look anywhere on the kennet you will find barbel
