Default bait
I was fishing the river severn on sunday and a local to the area stated that, fisherman who bait up with large amounts of pellets etc, contribute to the barbel not feeding. There maybe some truth in this but surely weather conditions, water height and colour play a big part in feeding behaviour.Does anyone else have any input to the above.

hampton loade can be slow at the start of the year. but baits like magotts or worm work well early in the year with a groundbait feeder. and pellets come on much later. O and wellcome to the forum
