Angry barbel
i hope to find out about barbel fishing having just give up match fishing which i have been doing for 30 years i have been fishing the upper thames without a sniff only big chub so can any one help me i am a newby

I tend to advise differently than others. There is a great sense of achievement in doing it yourself. I suggest you might consider catching your first completely unaided. Then worry about what others advise for subsequent fish. Barbel are not terribly difficult to catch.
If you are catching big chub, and have 30 years match experience, the chances are you are not doing anything terribly wrong.
