Nice idea but...

Firstly you would have to be damned sure they were the ones dropping the rubbish, and not a previous visitor to the swim. Litigation lurks.
Secondly I doubt that the type of angler who drops the litter would readily put up his picture here.

If the FED were rather more pro-active, they would rigorously enforce a rule that says when you leave a swim it must be clean, regardless of whether it was your own litter. They might also ban all alcohol on the banks, which, if enforced, would thereby remove a few of the less acceptable anglers. The local rivers are all far too near areas of housing. So they attract all types of anglers. Distant venues tend to attract the more serious , and therefore probably the more responsible angler. We are not that lucky locally.

I suspect that all we can realistically do is to clean up the area we have fished, take a plastic bag of junk home with us. I have put many a bagful into the Vernon Park litter bins. Leaving an area clean might just dissuade a few litterers to be more responsible. Some just do not care or have the intellect to take their rubbish home.

Some of the rules that a club have are rarely enforced. Therefore they're blatantly ignored. The FED (of which I'm not a member) is probably no different to any other club in this regard.

Personally I wouldn't let people join without proof of an EA licence and that's just for starters.

I'm not sure that mug shots of everyone would really help.

OK.. i agree with what D/N. AND JAYZS are saying. but whats the problem in enforcing that every body that registers with the forum submits a photo. if you have nothing to hide whats the problem.???????:

to be honest, a quick look in the pictures and albums normally tells you who's who...
