Nice idea but...
Firstly you would have to be damned sure they were the ones dropping the rubbish, and not a previous visitor to the swim. Litigation lurks.
Secondly I doubt that the type of angler who drops the litter would readily put up his picture here.
If the FED were rather more pro-active, they would rigorously enforce a rule that says when you leave a swim it must be clean, regardless of whether it was your own litter. They might also ban all alcohol on the banks, which, if enforced, would thereby remove a few of the less acceptable anglers. The local rivers are all far too near areas of housing. So they attract all types of anglers. Distant venues tend to attract the more serious , and therefore probably the more responsible angler. We are not that lucky locally.
I suspect that all we can realistically do is to clean up the area we have fished, take a plastic bag of junk home with us. I have put many a bagful into the Vernon Park litter bins. Leaving an area clean
might just dissuade a few litterers to be more responsible. Some just do not care or have the intellect to take their rubbish home.
