You will see that barbel hunters sends you emails everytime somebody replys to a thread that you have posted on yourself.
If you make a post or start a new thread you are automatically subscribe to that thread, this means the site will email you when a new post is made to thread.

Selet the thread via the tick box to the right of the thread title and at the bottom of the page you will see some options in a dropdown menu, these are remove subscription, Instant, Daily and weekley.
Remove: This stops all email updates from the thread your chatting on.
Instant: The site email you instantly after an other member replys to a thread your chatting on.
Daily: The site will email you once a day this all the updates on the thread your chatting on.
Weekley: the site emails you once a week with all the updates.
