Default Broken spreader block
Hi All - the thread of my spreader block broke last weekend, leaving the brass thread in my new landing net handle. There's not enough left to grip onto so don't know how to remove the brass thread. Any ideas?

hi rich, you need a stud extractor, its like a thread tapping tool but it has a left hand thread, what you do is drill the centre of the broken bit then screw the extractor in anti-clockwise it will remove the broken off bit and your done.

cheers
kev.

Hi Kev - thanks for the advice. Do B&Q sell them, do you know? Otherwise I was just thinking of drilling it out, however my wife's lent out our drill to someone at work. Typical!
