hi will i meen as in the tight mesh will catch the flow i tend to go for a wider mesh and a more oval shape to let the flow go through easier not to wide mind as that could damage the fish and a more oval shape.

i would never trust the drennan nets , a cheap , britle plastic spreader block doesnt inspire confidence in me , i also think the mesh is too shallow

Drennan Super Specialist Landing Net

NEW AND IMPROVED FOR 2010

Drennan Super Specialist landing net heads with new extra strong alloy spreader block, annodised alluminium frame and are fully water sealed.
The new Drennan Super Specialist Landing Net has a hollow section alloy frame which is both lightweight and rigid, importantly sealed so it does not fill with water and gain weight when immersed.
The net itself has a larger mesh on the sides to reduce water resistance & improve manoeuvrability and finer mesh on the base to cradle the fish.
The whole net including the alloy frame is in a muted olive green colour. When submerged these nets looks so natural and weed like that fish are far less net shy and some species, especially Chub, will occasionally drive into the net rather than veering away.
Available in 20" and 22"

ive just replaced my old net due to wear and tear after four years and invested in a greys rubber mesh job im very impressed with its mesh construction and shape ideal for barbel and rivers nice and light and tuff as hell and of coarse the rubber mesh is better for the fish as less likly to hold bactiria and less likley to harm the fish buy fins getting trapped by the old net design id recomend it to all after all its greys and in my opinion greys customer care is second to none and there goods are top noth from rods to nets.

I have found I need more than one net, some being better for certain circumstances than others. I found a deep triangle useless for fishing off a high wall. I couldn't get the fish out of it when returning it to the river. The height and flow conspired against me.
But an oval net seems so much more convenient for the river, although I might have to up it a size this year, as it struggled a bit with my best fish last year. Trouble is you can't easily fold the damn things for transit.

Default Drennan net
Hello folks,
The Drennan net is apparently 22", is that measured across the net or lengthways. Sounds stupid but it looks like a slightly rounded triangular shaped net.

Thanks.
