Default drennon rods
a few weeks ago somebody was asking whitch quiver rod to buy and i recommended a drennon series 7. well 3 days ago into a big fish and the end section snapped clean of just below the quiver tip. well i took it back to the tackle shop having only bought it 6 months ago. he promptly got onto drennon. and thay stated that there rods if thay are going to break?? break in the first 3 months.so the cost of a new end section is down to me. what a con ??..not having mutch luck with my gear am i. also drennon are called ESP now if you need to contact them .

I have one of these quivers and I think its one of the best things i've brought. The idea of having a snug fit is that things don't rattle about and get damaged! Yes the reel pouch can be snug, but if you put your L/H rod in first then this helps as the handles don't get in the others way.

With response to the Drennan series 7 rod, I would say this is too light for proper barbel fishing, I have one and used to use it all the time for match carp. However those fish grew and started averaging 9lb + and started to really test the rod. So I went over to Chub Outkast twin tips. These are supplied with a 1.75 TC top (ideal 4 Barbel) and also a quiver tip.

If the break is clean then it is deffo a manufacturing fault and not accidental, depending on the fault depends on when it goes and how many times the blank has been put under pressure! I would go back to the shop and explain this. The shop should also be reminded that under retail law the shop is responsible for the warranty for the rod, not the manufacturer and that the rod is not fit for purpose and should be replaced. If they don't, contact trading standards for advice.

Drennan & ESP are the same just brand names under the same company and are normally very good!

its the trakker 2 rod padded sleeve for me

does exactly the same as the korum 2 rod , but it can be folded up under the brolly rather than having to be left out

also , the reel pouches will take anything
