Default What Main Line
My question is for the tidal trent, i have been and still do use daiwa sensor 8lb and 10 lb,bs
just wodering if any one uses the high tech low diameter line for this sort of fishing,
if so what brand do you use and size

wouldn't go for hi-tech lines at collingham as its a bit snaggy, I would use something robust like nash bullet or Berkley big game in 10-15 lb but its all personal preference, I like quite soft stretchy lines.

Hi Dave on the Thames i use 10lb ESP crystal for braid i use 30lb Power pro.

Thanks for the reply lads, will have a look at the above line
ive been using .20 and 0.22 stroft as hook lengths,although ive been broken a few times with the stroft , i quite like it,its dia size and strength

Hi Dave what rivers are you fishing? the line you mentioned seems a bit light weight to me, i'd defo up it to at least 10-12lb b.s

Hi Larry, i do use 8 and 10lb main lines, the 0.20and 0.22 are hooklengths
0.20 is 4.10 kilos bs
0.22 is 5 kilos bs

Hi Dave off the top of my head i THINK 10lb crystal is .30 breaks at 13lb approx so it's a bit more guttsie than stroft which i feel is the way to go in the coming months. As you well know Barbel will find the weak link in any set up.

hi lads. is it possible to use berkley fireline crystal for float fishing on rivers. i bought some in error its 3lb .?? any ideas lads.billy

i would stick to the sensor if i was you but would increase the breaking strain to at least 12lbs
