I have tried several braids as a main line for distance feeder fishing, the drennan and also a maxima braid which were both a similar price (around £10) were fairly good, however after extensive sessions started to fray and I suffered some crack offs.. Berkley fireline seemed better and lasted longer and so certainly for a main line, I will be using this from now on. I sometimes fish a mono shock leader with a braid main line, to give stretch on the cast but also absorb some of the fishes lunges close to the net.. As for hook links, Kryston have loads of different types of braid for hook links, Some are coated which give the option of keeping part of the hook link stiff and the very end ultra supple, or for hinge rigs where appropriate (more commonly used in carp fishing to be fair). Others are virtually invisible in water due to their un platted construction. I think when you see the choice of braids and considder the uses of each, you will be able to suit the one for the conditions.. there is no one braid does all really..
