Default Which Rod


Hi guys, can you recommend a rod capable of casting a 5oz feeder half way across the trent? when the feeders full of bait, it must weigh6 or 7 ounces.ive got a greys prodigy 1.75 and i can just about manage casting 4oz with my teeth gritted. any ideas? cheers, joe

i use a carp rod on there when its hoofing through, does the job !

I'd be looking to something along the lines of the Korum Twin Tip, Daiwa Infinity 2.25, Shimano Beastmaster/Antares Concept Power, Fox Floodwater/Extreme barbel or a Harrison Floodwater rod. Much depends on the budget.

I use a wychwood big river barbel 2lb class seems to do ok on the severn but it might struggle when in flood but so far a 4/5oz feeded no worries

Also have a look at the wychwood maximiser 13ft, 2 tops 2lb and 2.5lb, not up there with the flood water, but use the 2lb on a daily basis and is fine.
