I did'nt know it was possible to cast a bait dropper like that, bet they get a battering though!!
Don't they fly open when they hit the surface?

the smaller seymore ones are great for casting at distance, or even the metal thamesley types, 20-25yrds isnt that far, a bit further and you might struggle, i like the fox but casting them at distance results in them getting smashed to pieces
cheers

Depending on the flow, you could try a heavy groundbait.

Like jerry l use the metal one on odd occasions as now i tend just to use pva
you don't need a great deal of bait down there wrap your lead with a big bag
& your hook bait with a smaller one job done.
Good luck.

Paul, be careful using dried out hemp-it tends to float.

If you use a fairly small bait dropper you should be able to cast it under arm quite a considerable distance. May take a bit of practice of course. You can always add some weight to it as well.

Hi lads, wow!! theres loads of ideas on here, maybe if i tie some pva string around the baitdropper and cast overarm to the same spot, but i'll have to use a strong dropper or take a few with me in case i break one. Thanks again.....paul.

Another idea I have used is to mix your hemp and liquid with some bait (pellets meat etc) add some pea gravel to the mix to make it sink quickly and freeze it in easily throw sized portions.

It will sink to the bottom where it will quickly defrost. make sure you put enough gravel in as Ice floats and I fed 3 miles dowstream the first time I tried this.

Martin.
