Agree with Baz on this. A baitdropper's not a practical option at distances greater than an underarm cast. PVA bag would be my preferred option.

Hi lads, thanks for the tips, i have tried the pva idea but it can be expensive and no matter what i do the pva melts when i put hemp in ( i've even tried drying hemp out in a large tray but it still dosen't work).the feeder idea looks like the way to go....cheers lads ...paul.

paul, if your using hemp in pva you can get pva friendly hemp,if using your own hemp then you need to soak it saltwater before you bag it,the salt stops the pva melting till its in the water and rinsed off.or you can use hemp oil to coat it first,if your baiting up with a feeder don't forget to clip up so you get your bait in a pretty much tight'ish area.

cheers

kev.

baitdropper everytime, find a suitable dropper and clip up like you would if you were spodding on a lake, i personaly favour the fox but there only suitable for under arming at short range, get yourself a nice seymo baitdropper in one of the smaller sizes and fire away to your hearts content, theres no easier way to get get lots of bait down accurately on a river than a bait dropper, just make sure you use a suitable rod.
cheers
jerry
