if you have a look in the reviews section there are reviews on the quiver in there.

A question. Do people think it totally necessary to use a quiver tip when fishing for Barbel? From my very, very limited experience, a Barbel strike is likely to take your rod, 20metres of line & your tripod into the river on its first indication! Wouldn't just free spooling be sufficient? Just a thought.

Can be like that on days and on others you could just have a couple of wraps and thats your bite, I only use baitrunners as a safty aspect so I dont loose the rod If Ive lost my concentration always pays to watch the tip as much as you can to try and identify whats actually going on under the water You can use carp rods if you like, I do on the trent because of flow and feeder size, but on a small river I use my bomb rods, so its horses for courses.

hi moff.. i have been fishing on rivers 20 years + and only this year bought a feeder rod.the reason being not allways do barbel or chub wrench the rod round****enty of times its just been just a little tap on the tip. before that i used my float rod. i used to miss bites because the risistance was alot higher and fish used to drop the bait. on big rivers YES u may need a beefed up rod.???? i dont know where u live but the n/west rivers tend to be small and low this time of year.all i use is a feeder rod with 1 ounce tip when very low. IT WORKS FOr ME... billy

I use anything from 3 to 5 ounce tips on the tidal trent, i have a 14 and 13 foot quiver rod both capable of playing and landing barbel, i personally prefer longer rods to keep more line out of the water
i also have a spod rod and a big home made feeder to get some bait out before i start fishing
