just taken delivery of my new j w young barbel rod,what a nice bit of kit it is too, can't wait to get out and bag a fish on it.

Nice one with the new rod and dunney got a new one as well, will have to go on the trent again and let my old knacked rods do the talking

Just "won" a brand new j.w young 12ft barbel rod myself off ebay for 62 squid. can't wait to try it out next weekend.

yep been after one for a few weeks now they look the business, just need to upgrade my reels now.

you will not be dissapointed when it arrives mate,pencil thin & light as a feather, really lovely bit of kit mine came in a nice hard case as well. i'll be matching mine up with 1 of my fox stratos 7000's

currently using a pair of shimano 5000 RE but looking for some cheap 5000 GTE-A.

Hi Kev,

How are you finding the Stratos? I had a FS7000E (cheaper version) for a couple of seasons....and thought it was absolute cack (for want of a better word). The gears completely went when I was playing a big fish and put me in all sorts of trouble. The writing was on the wall a long time before that though.

I now use Okuma Interceptor Pros IPB340s....cheaper but a class apart IMO

the gearing is going in my interceptors not used em more than 20 times, they just cant handle big feeders as do most reels, im looking at the spro's at the moment, but they not cheap but up there with the tdr's, Ill have to ebay some stuff though to aquire
