What is the tame record for barbel and chub ? anybody know

Don't think I have ever heard a mention of records for the Tame.

Whos had the biggest!

I know kev on this site has had a double and ive not heard of anything bigger.

hi lads. can anyone tell me how the lower tame is fishing. i am thinking of giving it a go in the morning. the fish in the goyt recognise me now. ha ha billy

I haven't been on for a week or so but last time out I had nothing all day and then they switched on around 8pm.

dave mason compiles all the barbel river records, i,m sure if you enquired with him he would be able to tell you, as for chub river records i think they were abolished some years ago.

dave the tank claims to have had a 12lb+ fish no reason to doubt him,he has an impressive catch record on the tame and his knowledge of the river is excellent.

kev - I imagine any river record would have more stringent criteria than someone claiming they've caught a big fish. I've no reason to doubt The Tank either, and I guess that's the difference between an official record and an unofficial record.

I've caught a 13lber from the Goyt but know of two bigger fish claims 13lb 4oz and over 14lb from the same river. Yet the official record is Jerry's 12lb 8oz fish. Also Hobby caught a 12lb 12oz fish a few days ago....though, although I don't know which stretch it came from, it was caught after hours.

I doubt if Dave Mason will have any Tame stats; someone actually has to claim the record, to be on the official list.

If, like me, you mainly fish by yourself....you'll never be able to claim a record
