Hi Mark - just looked at the Bruce Ashby website and the rods look great. I wonder where he sources his blanks? I see he doesn't do (his own section) shorter rods with higher test curves.....as the rods get longer the test curves increase.

I'm not sure about the abbreviated handle as I prefer the comfort of a full cork handle and I never need to cast more than a few yards anyway on the small streams and rivers I fish so I prefer a short full cork handle; however the abbreviated handle does look great.

Lovely looking Barbel rod there Jerry, I'm jealous!

Although If I had one with an abbreviated handle like that I would probably use it for surface fishing for Carp.

Hey Jez - I dropped my Normark's off at Colin Leatherbarrow's (rod builder) this morning, so will have two nicely customised rods for the coming season. A very nice chap. £190 all in (with a small repair to one of them). You probably think I'm mad not buying a new I-Power or Torrix, however I really like the blanks and I'll be the only chap fishing for barbel with cork-handled Normarks next season

Steve - Colin mentioned that he's recently built a couple of Torrixs for you. Very nice rods, mate. Did you catch the big girl on a Torrix, or acquire the rods subsequently?
