Default work harder
hi all,
this coming season i am going to work at my fishing a lot more, over the last few seasons i have got too used to fishing the same way every time i go, two rods out, pointing skywards, staying in the same swim waiting for the barbel to come to me, this season i plan to use one rod more and if no bites come within half an hour, move on, baiting and rotating about three swims per session.
I'll let you know how it works out!!

I too fancy a few on the pin. Will be more mobile this year and shall be trying spots that don't get fished much on a busy stretch. On another stretch will be just hoping for a bite this season!

Pimp New season different approach
I do most of my fishing on the Trent for sessions and the Dane for quick visits and centerpin, free lining, intermate fishing last season I started using pop ups critically balanced and had some good results and I started to entice the barbel to come up off the bottom and take floaters and bits of boilie trapped in the streamer weed, at first I thought they were carp slurping and sucking until a head popped out of the weed BARBEL I was gobsmacked I've seen this on a well known DVD by guy rob but I thought that would never happen on a river I fish so this season my aim is to take one off the top. Floater fishing for barbel MAD what ever next.

Pimp Does anyone dabble in stretpegging
The last couple of seasons I've used this method where possible wow it's so exciting, in clear water conditions you can get the fish to come and feed under the rod tip and when the bite comes the float just vanishes smoothly the fish doesn't know it's hooked watching a float can't be beaten whilst studying the fish below coming and going tip of float and rod twitching suddenly floats gone amazing.

Same for me this year as last years (boilies over a bed of hemp & pellets), think it's a case of don't change what don't need changing.

Default Dane double at last
Tuesday evening I took my first Dane double 10-2 river was quite coloured after heavy rain. I was having a bad session every cast was falling short getting tangled, the first bite was missed then nothing proper so started walking back to the car nearing the car I had a final cast in a little slack bend swim 1min and bang round it went 10 min scrap then back of the net I'm still buzzing.
