Default Upper Severn
Hi All,

Planning to target the Upper Severn this season.
I believe it pretty hard but I don't mind that too much as having walked the banks its a beautiful river and that means a lot to me!
Might change my mind if I don't catch after too many sessions???
Anyone else fish here or on the Vyrnwy?

Dave

Yep me. I fish the upper Severn a lot. Only fished the Vyrnwy once and blanked but have walked stretches and seen some decent fish.

Well worth the effort and the landscape, as you say, is fantastic.

Hi Dave. I have had some nice fish from the upper river and seen one or two that will keep my interest, although for me its as much about the surroundings and the lack of angling pressure. A lot of walking wearing polaroids will help as will a mobile approach to a days fishing. Stick with it and the rewards are there. Good luck, will probably bump into each other sooner or later. Regards Angus

hi booey, have you read the severn reports threads if you scroll down to the bottom of the bhf home page you will see the river reports from last season, and if your going on the loade or anywhere that holds big barbel then there is every chance of you hooking 1 weather you intend to or not so with this in mind my advice is to be geared up for this,if your just starting fishing for barbel then theres tons of info, help and good advice on this forum all you got to do is ask mate.
good luck and have a good season.

cheers

kev.
