Dave, you can buy the Long Eaton Victoria books from Bridge Tackle £24.00, also fished the BAA stretch of the Anker 5 times the other season without so much as a sniff from a little chub nevermind a barbel, a very difficult place to catch one from, barbel very few and far between! Good luck let us know if you catch one!

Thanks very much for that, remember the site mentioning that you could buy them from a shop.
I only go to Anker as it's close to where I'm working, so can get in a couple of hours general fishing. Only been twice, had couple of nice chub and loads and loads of perch. Been told a few barbel have been caught but very rare.
Cheers

Long Eaton vic
I'm member of LE Vic, defo still running, i'm off down cranfleet stretch tomorrow. from the LE vic stretch down stream it joins on to Notts Anglers,(which I am also a member) which goes past the nature reserve then starts again at beeston wier.
Notts anglers have about 9 different stretches on the Trent, going as far as Farndon Newark.
Notts anglers is very good value for money. as is LE Vic, some great barbel waters

To be honest, it wasn't very good at all, very little flow and there is so much weed floating down it was impossible, so I went to my local little river for the last couple of hours and caught a 7lb 8oz barbel, not the one I was after though, had my hook straightened a while back, so i'm obsessed with catching that one. lol
