Yeah it's been a great week for the barbel, all the patience as paid off.

Thanx for all the advice and tips you have given me, it's made a big difference up grading the tackle and not letting the Barbel run, I've been able to turn them away from the snags before they pick up any momentum.

One day I will catch that big one thats in there.

The bigger fish arn't moving untill it's dark.

Had another good night last night, only there for 3 hours but bagged an 8lb 13 fish.

I'll be resting the river for a few days now, give it another go next week.

It seems you have listened to the good guys on here and that is brilliant. Well done mate it's a cracker and one to be proud of. A river record to is the stuff of dreams and to have a bigger one there well i think you've found a very unique area that very few anglers find. To catch a double also many anglers go many years in search of one. Well done again excellent fishing.

well done great fish cant beat barbel from small rivers,im in the same boat had upto 8lb in my small local trying to tempt a double sure it will come soon though. Smile

Thanx for the comments, to be fair I do enjoy fishing the small rivers, at some point I will try and get back to the river soar at Ratcliffe on soar, as I know doubles were pulled out of there last year.
