Was on yesterday brabyns WM oh I like the look of this stretch I had a fish but not sure what it was, It was trout like but had very faint spots almost completely silver. I've had a few brownies out of the goyt now and this one looked nothing like the others. (was it a salmon par???) I know for a fact that salmon have started using the goyt again cause one of my friends witnessed them scaling the weir at new mills. What do you guys think???

To avoid any possible confusion, Billy's fish is a salmon by the way.

Knowing how big your fish was might make it easier to say if it was a parr. Parr tend to have vertical pale blu-ish purple stripes, at least when small. I dunno how big they are when they first lose these marks.

My guess, unseen, would be sea trout. Photo available?

No photo I don't photo fish unless it is a special one like when I bag my first goyt barbel, but it wasn't until I'd put it back then it dawned on me that the trout I'd just caught had no red spots and colour it was just silver with pale rings and a very blunt head.
