Default Cheapest Baits
Hi, I mainley fish with hemp and pellet and am looking at bulk buying hemp and cooking it myself when i need it and also buk buying my halibut pellets and drilling them as i need them. Has anyone else done this -

I cant work it out i know its around £3 per kilo for cooked hemp and i can get it from the pet suppliers near me for £1.60 per kilo but i have to buy 25kilos. So i can see the saving there its half price and i dont have to visit the tacke shop to buy any and probably spend money on other shiney items while im there.

As for Pellets - I know they are around £5 - £6 per Kilo if bagged and drilled but if i buy loose and drill myself they are around £2 per kilo but again i need to buy 25kilos.

So have any of you guys done this or do it ??? and what do you think is there anything i should be mindful off ie: **** pellets etc....

I bought a big sack of hemp from

Equestrian & Farm Shop stockists of Dubarry, Ariat and Charles Owen | Chelford Farm Supplies

They don't seem to do it on the website for delivery though. I'm sure there'll be a farm supplies near you. I think it was about £18 for a 15kg sack. Mine split ok, so maybe it's just luck of the drawer. Don't forget that a kg of dried seed will weigh a lot more when prepared (would think at least twice as much, but someone will probably know better) so you'll be saving more than you initially thought.

Don't stink the house up too much when you boil it!
