Kev - do you use a 'pin? If so, in what circumstances/conditions....and do you use one all the time?

I've used my Fred Crouch Jets exclusively this season and, although I caught a few fish, sometimes I just can't reach the right spot with them. I have a couple of Shimano baitrunners in the post but I can't help feeling that, having really enjoyed the fight on 'pins, the baitrunners will be a bit of a let down in that department. Not because they're Shimanos or any particular model, just because a centrepin gives so much control. If I didn't need to cast the occasional three rod lengths out I keep the Jets on permanently. The fight with that nine pounder on Sunday was just exhilarating, and at no point did I feel the fish was getting the better of me.

hi rich, not used a pin for 9 years i'll be so out of practice i'll be like a pin virgin all over again lol,can you not wade to get the extra yards your falling short on? by the way i've just sold 2 nash pursuit 12' rods and 2 shimano 10000gte baitrunners + spare spools for £100 virtually new as well,i am really struggling to get on the rivers now i doubt i will get much chance to use mine anymore (no its not for sale)lol, i may try it on a pond somewhere in the future although i doubt it will be the same kind of fight as on the flowing stuff, well done on your fish by the way.

cheers
